The Mayor (Mr. T. A. H. Field) lias met with a- slight Accident, and was Tillable to attend "the special meeting of the City Council last, evening. Mr. Field hopss to be -about again in a day or two. Mi- E. Rabbits, formerly Inspector cf Orchards in Nelson, has taken advantage of his superannuation privilege, and vctired from the departmental service at the end of last month. Advices have been received by Mr 0. W.
