ANNUAL CONFERENCE AT AUCKLAND. (United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 10. The third annual conference in New Zealand of the Church of England Men's Society was opened this afternoon. A large number of delegates were .present f.om all parts of the Dominion, and the L>ishop of Auckland presided. The annual report, which was presented 'jy the Rev. Mr. Russell (Oamaru), ncneral secretary, showed that the Society had flourished during the past year, b_>th in regard to increasing membershiD, and to the creation of new branches. The former had risen from 2100 to 2500, and the latter from 114 to 131. A prosperous year was looked iforward to. It was resolved : That a committee be Hppointed to consider the abyisability of engaging a travelling organising secretary, and to report to a ;:ater sitting of the* conference ; that a committee be appointed to consider what improvements might be suggested in organisation, the time and place, of the meeting of future conferences ; and cf the federation of the 1- anclies for representation at the Dominion conferences ; that the conference, licploiimr the prevailing jridiffor'.nce of men to \jublic worship, earnestly calls upon the church authorities to seek for reasons and remedies ; that it be a recommendation to the bishops of the pro%.nces to appoint U mission council for undertaking systematic parochial mission work, especially among men.
