MUBGH2SON. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Eastcr-time is a very enjoyable holiday time in Murchison, and it is pleaaing to have it come and go, if only to see our local Older of Oddfellows hold their annual anniversary. This is annual event with the Murchison Oddfellows; and Murchison has often been visited at Easter-time by the Nelson District officers; but owing to the recent annual conference having been held in Murchison, we have not been favoured with the visitation this Easter-time. But, nevertheless, everything has been successful. The usual church parade took place on Sunday afternoon, and in the abo.-iice of the resident minister, one of the Brethren. Mr C\ S. Beilby, officiated at the service, and preached a very appropriate sermon to the brethren and congregation, and the Murchison Oddfellows are to be commended in many ways. They attend to the Spiritual by attending the annual church parade grand old custom —and finish off their anniversary with the usual grand ball on Easter Monday evening, which was held in Durrant s Hall, and was very largely attended, and in every way equal to last year's ball. Supper was partaken of by all present. Miss Hunter presided at the piano, and Mr Jas. Goodyer on the violin. Mr W. Fachell acting as M.C. FARMERS' UNION. The annual meeting of the Murchison Farmers' Union was held on Saturday evening, the 6th inst., in the Murchison Library. Mr H. Cowin, President of the Union, presiding. On the motion of Mr W. B. Thomson, seconded by Mr C. Morel, the minutes of the previous meeting as read were confirmed. The secretary was instructed to write to the Provincial Secretary and ask for prices for all kinds of manures to be obtained through the auspices of the Union. The meeting decided not to send a delegate to the Provincial Conference this year. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with. The secretary called for nominations for the office of President, and on the motion of Mr A. Thomson, junr., seconded by Mr C. Lynch, Mr Loui Morel was unanimously elected as President. On the motion of Mr Cowin, seconded by Mr A. Thomson, senr., Messrs H. Cowin, Jas. Brown, E. Kerr, C-. O'Brien, \V. B. Thomson ,and C. Lynch were elected Vice-Presidents of the Union. On the motion of Mr A. Thomson, junr., seconded by Mr C. O'Brien, Mr J. Bredbury was re-elected secretary and treasurer. The following representatives from each part of the county were appointed as the- Management Committee —Messrs E. Kerr, Jas. Brown, W. B. Thomson, C. Morel, L. Morel, E. Richardson, A. Monahan, Thos. Bredbury, G. Thomson, Percy Walker, R. Win, L. Scwell, JMain, C. H. Beilby, R. O'Connor, J. Rait, and M. Toohey. On the motion of Mr A. Thomson, sen., seconded by Mr H. Cowin, Messrs H. Fraser and H. Boyes, were re-elected auditors.

A hearty vote of thanks was moved by Mr C. O'Brien, seconded by Mr C. Lynch, to Mr Cowin, for his services as President during the past year. Mr Cowin suitably replied, and hoped his successor would receive the same kindly assistance from the members that had. Seen extended to him during his term of office. Several important matters were considered by the meeting, and the meeting resolved itself into a Show committee meeting, and considered several important matters in connection with the late show, and instructed the secretary to oay all prizes awarded by the judges, irrespective of the number of entries in any of the various classes. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded a v=ry pleasant mec'Jcg. AXEMEN'S SPORTS. The second annual sports were held on Easter Monday in the Domain.
