MEN AGAINST AN" IMMEDM'CE STRIKE. AUCKLAND. March £>• - The General Labourers' Union meeting to-night was attended by about 400 or 500, members only. . Mr. v (president) occupied the chair, and fhe Federation of Labour officials pie<sent. The meeting, which was iiot open to the press, occupied about three hotfrs, ibut dt is understood that the matters were referred to the -Federation of Labour again, and'that the general tone of the meeting was against an immediate strike, as the time was inopportune, as the employers were renuy and the men were not. The . Auckland Suburban Local ivies' Association decided to-night to recommend the local bodies which i's members represent lo adopt the schedule of wages which the City Council has <iecided to pay.
