WELLINGTON WOOL SALES. LO\N AND MERCANTILE CO.'S REPORT. (Special to "Mail.") I WELLINGTON, This Day. 'lhe concluding sales of the season took place in Wellington to-day, when about ociUO bales were offered, our catalogue being "about 700 bales. There was a good attendance of buyers, and excellent | competition in many cases, £d to per lb. advance on February passed-in wools being obtained; but in some instances a lower price had to be accepted. There is no doubt the big coal strike at Home had the effect of lowering buyers' limits. A special feature of the sale was the eager competition for lambs' wool, buyers on French account being very active. The offering comprised a fairly large proportion of passed-in lots from last sale, and, as already stated above, many of. .these were' sold to-day at an advance. The offerings as a whole were ofi poor quality; but we are pleased to report, that a good clearance was made i at satisfactory prices. . . The' following are some of the sales I made, by us of interest to your district : i —-C. "P. Carlsson, 6j?d ; John Ingram, 7-fd;. A. F. Kinzett, 7^d; F. E. Hargreayes, 7d; J. A. Price, 7£d.
