The New South Wales Legislative As sembly nearly lost its Speaker (Mr. Willis) sooner than it anticipated. He was "bushed" in the country recently, and only.turned .up safe after a rather unenviable experience. Mr. Willi®, has, it seems, bought a grazing farm at Mount Hutton, 30 miles out of Roma. On th< land some vary thick scrub has to - penetrated. There were some carts taken up as far as Roma, and then on to Mount Morgan., which where to be used in clearing the land. Mr. Willis and a companion started out to inspect thv. property, but were lost in the scrub som e distance away. Almost foodless and waterless, they wandered about without acknowledge of their bearings. Night c<■ > and the pair were still bushed, so til j made th© most!,of an impromptu camp. The next day was spent in seeking a way out of the scrub, and eventually Mr. Willis and his mate again struck open country and reached their camp.
