METHODIST CONFERENCE.
UNION WITH PRIMITIVE METHODISTS. (United Press AdsociATioN.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The Methodist Conference has decided to establish home mission stations at Hunanga (Nelson), Gonville (Wanganui), Wellington South, and Gisborne. An extra minister has been appointed for Ohristchurch North, to reside at New Brighton. At the Methodist Conference this afternoon the subject of union with the Primitive Methodist Church was dealt with. The basis of union formulated by the joint committee in June last was unanimously agreed to. Provision was made for minor alterations if approved by the union committees of both churches. A strong committee was appointed to represent the Church in dealing with such matters. The next conference will be'held in Wellington. THE MELBOURNE CONFERENCE. (Received 10.5 a.m) MEL-BOURNE, This Day. The Methodist Conference resolved in favour of the abolition of mixed bathing and protested aga-Lnst the increase of Sunday trains. Other resolutions protested against the legislation of the totalisator and urged legielation rendering iIU-gal art unions and lotteries held in aid of churchea and schools.
