A cable message from England wa? received in Chrisichurch to-day announcing the death of Major G.\H. Hutt'on. a son of the la.te Caiptain F. W. Hutton, formerly curator <>f the Canterbury jiu:«um. Major Hutton was educated in Christchurch. He obtained a commission in the Royal l Engineers, and served in the Byter war, where he gained the D.S.O. distinction.
