FOOTBALL.

NELSON RUGBY UNION. The weekly meeting of the Committee of the Nelson Rugby Union was held last evening, the President (Mr R. W. Stiles) in the chair. A of players disqualified by the .New Zealand Rugby Union was read. It was resolved that a senior representative match against Golden Bay be played at Takaka on July 29th, and that the team be selected by the 22nd.

In reference to a letter received from the Kia Ora Club, it was resolved that the time havinv been taken by the Union officials the result of the match must stand. Strong exception was taken- to the tone of the letter. The matter of schools J rant was held over until next meeting.

It was decided to receive entries for the primary schools championship until next meeting. It was resolved; that H. Pike's letter be received, and to inform ' the writer that .the case could not be reopened at present. It was resolved that all clubs must Eubmit proper' arid clearly written lists of.players takinb part in. matches. and that clubs be notified that the.penalty for a breach of this rule was a forfeit.

It was decided" to" play"" a "'town ' v." country match this season. It was resolved to inquire if the Anchor Company will arrange for a boat to 'return to Motueka on Saturdays when the Bay teanis are engaged in town

The New Zealand Rugby Union notified that the country teams' tour had been arranged as follows: South Island team: Assemble at •Christehureh on Ist August. Play Canterbury. 3rd August; Ota go, sth Au crust; Southland, 9th August; North team, 12th August. North Island team: Assemble at Palmerston North on 26th Julv in. time to proceed by mail train that day (except the Auckland and Bav of Plenty representatives, who will catch the train as it passes through). Play Auckland. 9th July; Taranaki, 3rd August; Wanganui, sth August; Wellington 9th August; South Island, 12th August. REFEREES FOR SATURDAY. •Senior: Waimea v. Riwaka, Mr Nalder; Nelson, v.
