Hatrick and James White, owners of the barquentine Alexa. Plaintiffs are the owner of the lighter Thistle, and claimed £250 for > the services rendered* in the .salvage of the barquentine. The Alexa ran aground oil the South Spit in December Cast*, arid tho Thistle and the Harbour Board's tug Togo assisted in getting tihe vessel off, and in keeping her from bumping into the breakwater. Defendants contended! that it was the Akxa's own gear which: pulled the vessel off"; but his Honor considered that tho services rendered, if only in keeping the vessel clear of the mole, were of some value of the salving operations.' In Consideration of tho value of the vessel, he tlhou'ght £250 was a .reasonable sum for the services of the Thistle and the Togo. Treating £75 of this as having been earned by the Togo, that 'left £175 as the sum to be ,paid for the services oi the Thistle. Costs were against deiendant.
