At a meeting of the Canterbury Lnun Teininis Association to-night it. wa.i reported re holding the Davis- Cup competition .it Cluistchurch th«. i the Lancaster Park Board of Control offer the Australasian _'iK«ccin.tioiii £SOO 'for t'h-o contest, the Board tu provide a 'fir,st-class g.rouind thoroughly suitable for such a contest .and to pay all 1 costs of stands, etc... advertising, preparation of grounds, -etc. It would pay tho Australasian Association the clear sumof £SOO and take the whole of the takings from all sources. In case this offer should jnot meet with the approval of the Australasian Association, the Coumty Association obtained from t'ho Board, of Control of Lancaster. Parte the following alternative cifer: To provide and prepare tli-o ground for play, or' in the offer already set out that .the cost of stands and accommodation .for say 4000 people, expenses of advertising, and gatekeepers' to be a. first charge on the gate taking®, the Board of Control to ta.ke 20 per cent, of tlie net takings, leaving 80 per cent, for the Association.
