At the conference <-.f the dairying industry speakers declared that the wages demanded by the Rural Workers' .Union oould not be paid a.ud leave .any profit. It meant a decided check to the industry. The solution suggested was the recording of individual results from 'herds, by which means' dairymen would soon more, than double the retuirn from each cow. It was pointed e,u't that 'if 'this were accomplished th« demaind 'for increased' wages need not cause worry. The conference appointed' a committee to inquire into and report on 'the labour demands.
A discussion took place on the admittedly marked' deterioration in the ricih"viess of the New South Wales miik su.pply in recent years. It wsis claimed' that the result was due to dairymen .giving all their attention ta producing qiuantity without any 'regard to quality.
