The recent developments ill connection ■with the treatment cf ironsand on the Waitara foreshore are creating considerable interest. The Messrs Curtis. who are connected with American capitalists, have had terms placed before them, giving them, a right to work the sand from the beach, the maim point of which is 6d a ton royalty on the manufactured article, with 100 per cent, extra if the sand is removed more than four mi'es away from the beach for treatment. The lease is loaded with improvements, and will have to be secured tinder public competition.
