THE Sheffield Choir, whose members are visiting Australasia, are now on their way to New Zealand! and intend giving a series of concerts in the principal con ties. A very great success lias been scored by the choir ait Sydney, where the expectant audiences were •mere than satisfied-. Hence those who lie aa* them, in the Dominion may anticipate , a musical fea>st. Bu,t .surely it ■should not be necessary for Nelsonians to go from their city, which claims to be the home <if New Zealand muisic aaid which lias its owin conservatoire, to some other centre in order to listen to the Sheffield singers. Surely .in Nelison there are enterprise enough .a,nid love c>f music enough to organise i&'ucb a guarantee as 'would ensure -a. visit froinr t.ho choir to the city. The .suggestion is thrown .out in order that aict.ion anaiy be taken,, and it is hoped that ere it- is too late an effort -will ibe made to bring the visiting musicians here. Prcim all accounts tJhe i*enderi:ng by th,e- choir of choral music unaecomipaiMed- in itself i,mparts a. liberal meal-ion, and a. city boasting a successful School' of iUUuic with many students a.s Nelson does certainly should not be passed' by iif local endeavours could prevent it.
