A BOON TO PRODUCERS.
SPECIAL FRUIT TRAIN FRoM WAKEFIELD.
It 'is the intention of the Railway Department to run a special fast train ■from"W T akefield to the Port to give 'greater despatch to fruit and perishable goods. This is a move in the right di'reclion, and should be .a .boon to growers •of fruit and vegetables, for now the fruit, etc., can stand on the trees overnight and be picked and packed in ine Triorning (to 'be sent forward by the fast special), and be in the Wellington markets and shops next morning. Mr. Edwards, .st at ionm aster, states that ,:x advantage is taken of this train by growers and others concerned he will start th-'s fast special next, year in time for the green pea crop.
