.Messrs Bisley Bros, and Coy. report on the Nelson live stock market as follows :
On Saturday last, we sold in the assigned estate of A. Wilkie and Coy. a niihiber of horses, for which competition was keen, each horse selling at fair to good value. The best bidding was for the well-knowni up-standing dark geldine, which reached £34, and went to the bid of Mr. F. Haase, which will .prove a great acquisition to his already weUknowin. pairs. Bidding was good right through tha sale. Traps, harness, machinery, all reached top values. ■On Tuesday last- held at our yards. Motueka, a sale of fat -cattle, mixed stores, and dairy cbws. some 80 head being penned. Beef of mixed quality, being bullocks, cows and heifers, wao -cleared at £7. Old cows aaid late calvers were dull of sale, but other classes fold well, price being £4 10s, £6 10s to £7. Some fe wspecial youn cows j-howi.ng some Jersey made "£7, £B, and £8 10-. One pen of high-clas*?. <t wo-year-old. short norn heifers made £4 10s. Two-year old steers to £3 10s. On Wednesday last, we held our us-ua] weekly .sale at Richmond yards. The entries at- this fixture were small, but the few sales made showed an upward tendency, especially for stor e hoggets in .wool, which sold at 9s lOd to 12s 7d. A few old to medium cows were cleared at £3 15s, £4 ss. to £5 ss.
