Lord Lytton states that the British - section was destroyed in five minutes. The British .pictures and old plate were in separate buildings and escaped. The loss, which, is confined to the loon collection of furniture, tapestry, and china, has been, greatly exaggerated, and will be covered by insurance amounting to £2500.
