CHTUSTCIIU"CH. Yesterday. At'the Addington live stcck market there was a larger yarding of .stock, and there was a good attendance of buyers. Fat cattie maintained their values, and the fat sheep market opened well, but eased towards the close. Store cattle were hi poor demand, and dairy c ' nws sold well. There was a. lair sale for all classes of nigs. The entry of store sheep showed an increase oil the previous week s total. and was made up principally of hog o-etts. with a few lines of ewes and wethers. The hoggetts were of fanaverage quality, and included a number of lines of Southdown crosses. . Ihe wethers were chiefly in good condition but the ewes were nearly all aged. 'there was practically no change m va-j lues, though the demand for aged ewes was rather better. Forward wethers | made 15s to 16s 7d. and low conditioned half-bre'ds 12s 10d. Six and eighttooth ewes were passed at 18s 10u.' and aged sorts made 7s 9d to 10s 9d. W ether hoggetts fetched lis 9d to 12s lid. smaller 10s 3d to lis : mixed s-x-xes 12s 6d to 14s 7d ; others 10s 7d to lis 6d. (rood ewe hoggetts realised 14s to 14s 6d. and others 12s 9d to lis 6d I'here was a lai-ge yarding ot tat sheep of mixed quality, and at the openiii" of the sale tnere was good competition amoiur the butchers whose supplies had run out. Towards tne end of the sale prices eased somewhat. A little business was done for export, and a West Coast buver was also operating. and o-raziers took'several lots ot unfinished" wethers. This extra competition assisted to maintain prices.. Ordinary woitrhts made 12s lOd to 16s. and a tew extra to 18s. There were only two new season's lambs offered. The of prices was. prime wethers 19s 6d to 25s' extra to 27s 3d: lighter 15s to 19s ; prime ewes 17s to 20s, others 12s fed to ±5- lid ; prime merino wethers 15s9dto 3d to 14s. ~ ,_ n Tne varding of fat cattle totalled 309 head, and included a good proportion of prime and extra prime animals. 1 here was a strong demand for all classes, and a food clearance was effected at prices equal to those of the previous "« ek - Several lines from the North Island sold well. Steers made £7 15s to £11: extra to £l7 ss; heifers £7 to £9 10s. extra to £lO 15s. Cows £5 10s to £9 12s 6d. equal to 20s to 28s per lOOlbs., according to oualitv.
