All items .except mining exceeded the estimate, while the land revenue .showed an increase of £59.105. ami tho railways an increase of £68.623. It was not anticipated that the .requirements of the coming year would ncccs.-;-tate a resort to thn money market. The Federal mote issue would cause a loss to Queensland of £25.000 yearly, through rendering the Treasury notes valueless. Within six months of the passing of '.file Act the whole of the Treasury notes, amounting to £1.600.000, would .have to be redeemed, but fortunately they could do this without- undue pressure. ' The estimated revenue for the current year was £5.046.207.
