PRESS CABLE SERVICE. PROPOSED FEDERAL SUBSIDY. Press Association. —Copyright. MELBOURNE. Tuesday. In the House of Representatives Mr. Batchelor gave notice of motion for tomorrow in favour of giving assistance to a cable service for the Australian press in the form of a subsidy of £6OOO, of which £2500 should be paid in the first year, £2OOO in the second., and £ISOO in the third year. Any association applying for such subsidy must be prepared to supply at least 60C0 words weekly of cable news.
