FALL OFF A TRAMCAR.
A LABOURER KILLED. CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday. Moses Chambers, a wharf labourer, of Lyttelton. fell off a tramcar coming from the Riccarton racecourse this evening, and one of the wheels passec? over his head. He died almost instantly. Evidence at the inquest concerning the' death of Moses Chambers, killed 'by a tramcar when returning from Riccarton yesterday, iuggested that deceased was slightly under the influence of liquor. Chambers fell from the trailer on a straight piece of road, the second trailer passing over him. The Coroner returned a verdict that death wa s accidental, and exonerated the tramway officials. Chambers was a single man, aged about 32. He came to New Zealand from Queensland a couple of years ago.
