THE INQUIRY. FURTHER EVIDENCE. USELESS FOG DETONATORS. (Received 8.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE. Friday. At the Richmond disaster inquiry fog signaller Emmett stated that he put down two fog detonators each time the distant signal was at danger, and was about to put one down when the train loomed out. of the fog. and he had just time to jump back. Fireman Burk said that after the accident he told the Chairman of the Railway Commissioners that they had the signals all right, but could not see the home signals on account of the fog.
