BURTON BROTHERS' CIRCUS. Burton Brothers' circus and buckjumpers will open this evening their Nelson season on the vacant land opposite Cock & Co.'s Building, in Waimea street. The programme is varied, including feats of horsemanship, rille shoting, and weight-lifting. Burton Bros, have gained praise i'ol themselves and their company wherever they have shown, and packed houses have ibeen the order of tinevening on a return visit. t The company comprises some very clever fir tists, amongst whom are includ? 1 those well-known rifle shots, the Brnard Bros, whose shooting is said to be a revelation. Athol, the strong man, is a clever weight lifter and juggler, besides which his muscul.u posing and feats of strength arc well worth seeing. Besides bucking donkeys, outlaws, and trick ponies, the management pre°ent lor the -i^ r time here their notorious outlaw Warrigal, the king of 'buckjumpers. and offer £SO to any local rider who successfully sits this horse for iwo minutes in an ordinary English hunting saddle. During the evening several other outlaws will 'be brought into the arena, and prizes will be offered to successful local riders. Besides" the inducement held out by t hemanagement, Mr Long has presented 3 beautiful gold medal to the most successful horseman in the Nelson district. This alone should be means of bringing to light a host of 'budding rough riders who have not yet had an opportunity of showing what capabilities they possess. All riding at the circus is done in an English hunting saddle, and the brothers Burton offer £2O to any person bringing a horse to unseat them under tr.e same conditions. They promise to excel themselvts this evening in fen'? of horsemanship, to. show what they can do in a saddle which other .buckjumping shows are afraid to use.. ROYAL STANDARD PICTURES. Large audiences visited the Druids' Hall on Saturday, and the evening attendance was uncomfortably crowded.
