Thomas Craig murdered a man named Henderson at Gateshead, and wounded Mrs Henderson, his former sweetheart, who was married while Craig was serving a sentence of seven years' imprisonment. Craig escaped, despite the fact that the murder was witnessed, and committed in a thickly populated district. He was eventually captured asleep in a hayloft with a loaded revolver in his pocket. ' After tramping for three weeks the .police traced him through small thefts of food. THE RAILWAY CARRIAGE MURDER. DICKMAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. LONDON, Sunday. J. A. Dickman, who described the murder charges against him as absurd, was committed for trial. (Dickman is charged with the murder of Nesbit, a mine pay clerk, in a railway carriage at Newcastle.)
