SHEEPSKINS AND HIDES SALES.
MSessrs E. Buxton and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cable from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co.:— The skin sales have opened. Merinos show no material change. "Fine and coarse crossbred skins have advanced a farthing, and medium full woolled skins have advanced a halfpenny." Messrs E. -Buxton and Co., Limited, report on the Wellington sales .on Friday, 16th inst., as follows: — Prices were very firm. Sheepskins and hides advanced fully %d per lb. There was a large attendance of buyers, and competition- was animated. The following were ruling prices: — Sheepskins. — Coarse crossbred, 6d to 7d; medium, 7d to 7%d; fine, 8d to B%d per lb. Hides.— Cows, 7d; ox, 7id; calfskins, lOd.
