THE NELSON CRIBBAGE ASSOCIATION. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. The presentation of trophies in connection with the Nelson Cribbage Association's two tournaments took "place at the Oddfellows Hall last evening. There was a very large attendance, between 80 . aud 90 "cribbers" putting in an appearance. The gathering was presided over by Mr Chas. Lamb, President of the Association. The first portion of the evening was devoted to harmony, and the following 1 contributed to the programme: — Mr T. , Condell, song; Mr H. Barltrop, recitation: Mr Woolf c, song ; Rex Jones, . sailor's hornpipe; Mr C. Whelan, song; , Mr P. Giblin, song. The efforts of each ' performer were appreciated, and hearty ' applause followed the respective items. ' Mr Aiton accompanied the vocalists. ' Some difficulty was experienced in re- ! gard to the music for the hornpipe ; but ; Mr J. Wilkins offered to man a piccolo '. if one was procured. Someone disapI peared from the room for a time, and returned with an instrument of the kind required. Though out of practice and unused to. the piccolo provided, Mr Wilkins rose to the occasion, and got > through in good style, though a little i oxygen— of the Melbourne bfand— ; would have been acceptable towards the I close of a long blow. , The trophies were presented by the Chairman as follows : —
