The Billiard Association has authorised the Auckland Amateur Sports Club to act as the governing body of billiards in New Zealand. It has also decided to give a gold medal annually to the winner'of the amateur championship of New Zealand. - AN ATTCKIAND CENTEE. AUCKLAND, Friday. In May last the Auckland Sports Club wrote to the Billiards Association suggesting it should be appointed the governing_body of billiards in New Zealad, as there is no body of control Tiere. The object -was to arrange for the championship of the whole of New Zealand, the first matches to be held at Christmas at Auckland, and annually thereafter at different centres.
