NEW ZEAL AND'S RECORD NUGGET.

"THE HONOURABLE RODDY"" a In connection with the finding of the record nugget (since named "the Honourable Roddy") on the West Coast, it appears that the lucky miners, Messrs Sharpo and Scott, discovered it in their claim, which is situated near Bullock Point, at the back of HeaJey's Hotel. The nugget was found by Mr Scott, who immediately called his male. They also previously discovered several pieces of coarse gold weighing up to nearly , half an ounce close to where the monster was unearthed. TJnforutnately their claim, which is a very small one, is nearly worked out. Mr Sharpe, however, 1 remarked on Saturday, "the find will enable us to go and look for more." The nugget, which is about the size of a t person's hand, averages more than an t inch in thickness. It is slightly impregnated with quartz, which would seem to indicate that it had come away -from a reef. Considerable compstition was shown by people to obtain the' prize.
