AMUSEMENTS.

■Cooper's Operascope Company gave an entertainment at th« Theatre Royal last evening {.jjg prejeflce of a large audience. A number of excellent pjcturs were shown, including a film of "An Englishman's Home." Several of the films were accorded enthusiastic applause. Our Bri-ghtwater correspondent writes : — One of the most enjoyable concerts ever held here was given in the RechabiU Hall on Friday night. Performers from all parU of the district contributed a lengthy programme which was gone through; and, by the items that were encored, reflected great credit on the part of all. The hall was almost too small for the attendance. To-morrow evening- an entertainment will be given by the pupils and ex-pu-pils pi the All Saints' Sunday ' School in aid of the school instrument fui)tj. An excellent programme is being arranged, comprising "The Madi Tea Party," from "Alice in Wonderland"; nursery rhymes in character; Japanese fan dances; scarf drill; military songs by boys; duets, violin solos, recitations, etc. The object of the entertainment is to provide a new instrument for the school that is rniictl needed. ,The entertainment will qemmenceat 7,30. '"" The Nelson Citizens' Band will give a social and dance to-morrow ' evening in the Druids' Hall to thos© who kindly assisted them in the recent bazaar. Tickets for the public are obtainable from members of the Band or at the ( door. The dance will commenceat 8 o'clock, and excellent arrangements lave been made.
