SPECIAL COMPETITION.
- -A special competition- was held for a group Of daffodils, the. prize being a - Royal Horticultural Society's Bronze Medal presented by Mr 'Wilson Heaps. ;A't : -least 15 varieties had to be 7 staged. There were 'three- competitors! and the coveto-. dtrophy— the first of the kind ever offered in 'Nelsqn-rrwas won "by Mr E. -B. Izard, of- Stoke. Included" withMr Izard's collection were specimens of a seedling raised by himself, arid which the judges recommended ,as worthy of the -Society's certificate of merit;
ballot by Mesdames Baigent anc Pearloss, and Misses Gascoigne ai\r. Hell. The Result "was: Mrs W. 0 eKrr,.-opte, Ist; Mrs C. A. (V-mi 9pts, 2nd Miss Rryia Hamilton 4, 3rd. The Show will be open from 7 to 1( this evening and again to-morrow afUr noon and evening. : , The all-roundex cellence of the exhibition should ensur; large attendance of the public
