ALLAN HAMILTON'S DRAMATIC COMPANY. "QUEEN- OF THE NIGHT." The Theatre Royal was crowded last night, when the Allan Hamilton Dramatic Company concluded the successful Nelson season by producing the sensational four-act drama, "Queen of the Night." The plot of the play is com/ plicated; and full of dramatic situations interspersed by a vein of comedy which" relieved' the intense pathos at times in : troduced by the author. he staging and scenic effects wero on a grand scale, and were quite in accordance with the' favourable press notices ■which this play has received wherever played in the Dominion. As on the previous evening the various roles were happily cast, and Mr George Cross (Ralph Feathers tone), Miss Ada Guildford (Pauline), Miss Rose mary Rees (Maud Sylvester), Mr Wilton Power (Phillip Stpneleigh), and Mr John Hesford (David' Pentreath),. again earneid; deserved praise from the large audience. Mr George Cross and Miss Ada Guildford had most onerous 'parts and' t-Eeir performance was a dramatic treat. MJsb Maud Chetwyndas "Kitty,"' was .y«£ychic, and her songs and dances ware loudly applauded. The comedy was wjsll supplied by Mr Wo. Ellison ("Oldßrisket") and his irrepressible son "Dolphu^". (Mr Wilton Welch), the make-up of .'this, pair being the last word in- that line; and without that, their comedy was enough to keep the house, simering with laughter. Young Donald Cameron as "Charley Featherstone," was a winning little fellow, and was an " exception to some youthfu laotors who have been seen', on the stage, and whom- the audience would have seen slain by the villain with a feeling of relief; Altogether; a return visit by this clever company would be welcomed. by Nelson playgoers.
