Each year there are new or alleged new fads and theories in regard to incubation exploited bj- various writers for tlio poultry press (says tho "Australian Hen.") Only once in so many times do we find in these multitudia. ous and voluminous articles even one little fact that is new. Simply be. cause the whole affair was threshed out thousands of years ago, when tho Egpytians with their apparently crude but decidedly serviceable incubating ovens conducted artificial incu. bation on a scale seldom if ever attempted to.day. And if tho truth were known, could one of the o!d Egyptian poultry raisers arise to.-lay and writo out a list of the directions he followed in the use of his machine, it would be found little different to the method of procedure advocated to. day except that it would in all pro- ' bability be free from a lot of the high < fnlntin' faddy, and sensational stuff that at this date passes for superabundant knowledge.
