' At a meeting of the New Zealand ' Trotting Association this afternoon, , the Committee (the President and Mr Duncan) appointed at a previous meet, ing to deal with the proposal that a conference of governing bodies of New Zealand, New South AVales, and Victoria be held at Melbourne to consider tho ndoption of a uniform standard for Australasia, submitted a report. They expressed themselves strongly against tho proposal, as it would loosen existing standards of trotters and pacers adopted by. the National Trotting Association of America. Thc report wasi adopted, and the matter was left to the .'Coir* mitteo to enter into correspondence wilh authorities in New South Wales and Vicloria. It was resolved that, wiih a view to carrying out the reso. I Intton passed on November 4th, 1908, regarding tho adoption of the standard of trotters and pacers, the committeo should compile a standard list of all horsos winning or giving public. trials in the following times: — Trotteys. 2.30; pacers, 3.25; that a committee ho appointed. to frame by-laws for the regulation of performances foe standard certificates ana records.' _
