THRASHING A BOY.
CHARGfi AGAINST A TEACHER. [United Pees 9 Assooiatios.] PALMERSXON N., Monday. Wm. Watts, a teacher at College-street School, was To-day charged with assaulting a scholar. Medical and other evidence was given alleging that the boy had been cruelly thrashed with a strap till he was considerably bruised. Mr A. D. Thomson, S.M., dismissed the case without calling on the defence, saying that under the ciicuiTistances the boy had not been unduly punished.
