AT WAKEFIELD.
At Wak«field yesterday Mr M'Kenzie, Minister for Public .Works, received a deputation of a dozen residents at the Oddfellows' Hall, who welcomed him as Minister, and congratulated him. on his appointment. Major Franblyn was spokesman, and the deputation asked that the site of the new Post Office be moved twenty feet back from, the road. Mr M'Kenzie said that the request would be attended to. The deputation also asked that as tho retirement of Constable Knapp ■>bbs about to take place, the renidence lof the new officer be located at Wakefleld. Mr M'Kenzio replied that . this matter was not in 'his Department; ibut when it was brought forward he ■would support it.. .--.
