MONTHLY MEETING.

The following business-was .transacted, at the meeting of tho Waimea County Council yesterday afternoon. In the absence of Cr. Best, Cr. Everett was voted to the chair. CORRESPONDENCE. It was resolved to clear gorso from Mr Holland's frontage at Belgrove. The gorse seed, it was alleged, had been carted to the locality with, gravel. Mr J. t Price, junr., .Wakefield, oi fered ls a cord for firewood on a ieserve in Pigeon Valley burnt out last year. —Accepted. Mr W. Cresswell, Lower Moutere, asked the Council to clear out a ditch along his property. —Crs. Everett and Hewetson to inspect and report. A request by Mr C. Davies that certain sections in Pretty Bridge Valley bo opened' up was deferred for a month, Cr. Hoiilt to report. It was resolved that as many Councillors as could go'vi«it the Glen Rae road end report at tho next meeting as to what could be done on the road. Resolved that 20 chains of travelling be done on tho west side of the Dovedale Hill. The Engineer was instructed to have the ford on the Old House road, Moutcr», widened. Resolved that the Council subsidise by £ for £ the grant for a footbridge over the Orinoco. It was resolved that traction engine owners be given notice that they must takn out licenses. The Council then rose.
