ATTITUDE OF THE NORTHERN MINERS. ATTEMPT TO STOP NEWCASTLE SUPPLIES. ARRANGING A GENERAL STRIKE. A CRISIS PENDING. [United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Thursday. Tho "Star's" Huntly correspondent wires that the Miners' Federation : s cabling to Newcastle urging the Unionists to stop supplies of coal for the New Zealand companies, and also arranging a conference of unions in Auckland with a view to stop the unloading of imported coal. It is stated that there is a probability of the southern coal miners being called out in sympathy with the northern coal miners' determination not to submit to medical examination. The Waikato Minors' Union has decided to cite the company for creating a lock-out, and for having allegedly failed to give the requisite notice. REEFTON, Tursday. Maters with regard to the deadlock at the mines are quiet, hope being centred in the Government being able to arrange with the Insurance Department.
