, LOSS OF LIFE. 1 LAUNCESTON, Saturday. Cape Portland reports that a larg-j unknown barque struck a reef at Fester's Island at 9 o'clock this morning, and sank with all hands. She was black in colour, with a white line. Boats were lowered from the barque, but apparently there was no time to do anything. Later reports state that a small piece of sail was visible for a time where the disaster occurred. Signals to Foster Island were not replied to, and no boats were visible. i ' Sunday.
