AT WAKEFIELD.

DISTRIBUTION OF MEDALS. Owing to Saturday being for various reasons inconvenient for the Dominion Day celebration, it was decided to observe the occasion on Friday afternoon. Accordingly the flag was hoisted at 1 p.m., and the school children were addressed by the head teacher and Mr Tunnicliffe, a member of the School Committee. The flag was duly saluted and the medals were distributed, after which cheers were given for his Majesty the King and the Government and teachers. The children were then dismissed for the day.
