THE DISAFFECTION ON H.M.S. GIBRALTAR.
(Press Association.— Copsrjobi.) (Received 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, Saturday. H.M.S. Gibraltar has arrived. The trouble about the gunsights was the result of a malicious act by one of the seamen, who confessed to it. The Gibraltar had left Aden, steaming down the Arabian Sea. in a strong monsoon, when one night the gun-sights were found missing. It was not till after the vessel left Colombo that the culprit was traced. He now awaits a courtmartial here. .-..■ The c-tory about general disaffection is due to an exagegrated story circulated by the Colombo press that all leave and privileges from th-j 'captain down had been stopped at Colombo, and the canteen closed, so that the ship became very thirsty. , As the result of one man s action tne damage amounted to £500. The throwing overboard of the gunsights was an act of sheer bravado.
