ATTITUDE OF PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT. [Press association.— Copyright] NEW~YOBK, Friday. The Standard Oil Trust state- that the letters Mr Hearst published, with many others, were stolen. Mr Haskell, Treasurer of the Democratic National Fund, gives Mr Roosevclt the lie direct. Mr Roosevelt warns Mr Bryan that the measures he is advocating will be wholly ineffective for curing a single evil now existing, and will merely throw business into hopeless confusion. The Democrats express tremendous indignation at Mr Roosevelt's persistent interference with the election of his successor, and say Mr Taft is only Mr Roosevelt's tame cat or Man Friday. The "New York Evening Post" complains that Mr Roosevelt's undignfiied attitude is pandering to an ignoble election row.
