PRESENTATION OF DOMINION DAY MEDALS.

The following circular memorandum has been forwarded to the chairmen of School Committees by the secretary of the Education Board: — "I am directed to inform you that the Government is desirous that arrangements bo made so that the school children throughout the Dominion shall salute the Flag, and receive Dominion medals at 11 a.m. on Dominion Day, Saturday, tho 26uhi inst. The medals are now being forwarded to the principal teachers in all schools, who have been advised that the local celebrations, so far as the schools are concerned, have been left in the hands of the committee. The Right Hon. the Premier is communicating with tho other local authorities regarding tho celebrations, and it is respectfully suggested that 'the committees co-operate in the ar- : rangements made, with ■ a view to .making tho function as successful as possible." , Officers of the Cadet battalion have also been requested to hold a ceremonial parado in the afternoon, and they will co-operate with the adult brigade.
