AN ELTHAM EXPERIMENT.
[United Peess Asscjiation.] ELTHAM, Saturday. The Eltham County Ceaincil to-day accented the offer of a local syndicate to lav 30 chains of road from Eltham to ODunake with concrete blockG, at £10 a chain, the Council to pay only £6 a chain if a six months' trial moves unsatisfactory. When the Eltham County was formed out of the Hawera County a number of SDOt-ial loans existed. The question of liability for special rates has since been in disnute between the two bodies. The Eltham Council now asked the Hawera Council to co-operate in statinEt a care reeardins these loans for the Supremo Court or the Appeal Court.
