IMPORTATION OF PURE SEED.
THE NEW BILL. [United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Monday. To-day a deputation representing the soed importers of Wellington, waited upon Mr MrNab, regarding the Agricultural Produce Sale and Importation Bill. It was represented that the penal clause would apparently hamper very greatly the importation of seed into New Zealand. It was imposible for merchants to guarantee that all seed would be absolutely free from Californian thistle. The Minister promised to send tb-> Bill'to the A. to P. Committee of the Upper House and undertook that tha Bill would pot be considered before Friday. Bs recognised that the Bill would not be a success unless the responsibility was eventually put upon the farmer. The deputation could forward its views to the Committee.
