MARLBOROUGH ITEMS.
A TEACHERS' TRAINING SCHOOL. DEARTH OF SURVEYORS. Pbess Association. — CopxriqhiO BLENHEIM, Tuesday. Nearly a biindred teachers from all parts of Marlborough are attending the Easter training school in Blenheim. Amongst the lecturers are Mr Tennant, Inspector of Wellington, and Mr Bruce, Agricultural Science expert, and. Miss Eggleston, of Nelson. Mr Hogben, Inspector-General, will probably attend for a few days. The Land Board to-day resolved to approach tho Minister of Lands ™>4b a request for additional surveyors for Marlborough. It was pointed out that there was much cut-out bush land, for which there was the keenest demand by the right, class of people, yet matters could no tbe dealt with simply for want of surveyors. It was stated at the meeting that there was a dearth of surveyors all over- New Zealand, owing to the demand for them in making resumed land settlement and the native lands survey. 1
