fhe grounds, surrounding Victoria College are to be made a little more presentable.-' At .a. meeting of the council a comprehensive. report from the gardens committee was" considered. Afi ter the matter had been discussesd, it was decided to do tree-planting, etc., costing 'up to £20, and the architect is to be asked for an estimate for furnishing the entrance to the college by means of steps leading from Salamancaroad to the main entrance. The Government is to be asked to hand over the balance of the vote for Victoria College (amounting to £315) for fencing the colleo-e grounds and metalling the approaches. If the Minister is agreeable £100 of tliis moaey will be spent in providing a new tennis court.
