VELDTHEIM'S CRIMINAL CAREER. (Press Association. — Copyright.) LONDON, Thursday. Veldtheim, charged with blackmailing Wolff Joel, has been sentenced to £0 years' penal servitude. After the verdict. Inspector Pentin gave Veldtheim's history. His real name was Krutze, and he had bsen a bed character from childhood. After serving in the Germany navy and the British mercantile marine, he went to Australia, and in Perth married Maria Yearsley. He went to Capetown, and his wife to England, w"here she became acquainted with a gentleman who Veldtheim attempted to blackmail. He next bigamously married, defrauded and deserted several women. In South Africa he raised £500,00 on pretence of bing unable to unearth Kiuger's buried treasure.
