SOCIALISM.
To the Editor.
Sir,— .Mr D. MacClure has challenged me to debate in public. lam not going to debate publicly because my evening suit, box hat, and gaiters are yet to be obtained. But I, with your permission, sir, will accept the challenge under the condition that it is through your columns. lam also prepared to pay half of any expenses which may be entailed. It has been said by your correspondent that they can boast of supporting any proposition they may put forth. The said challenge is only another example to verify my comment. I am, etc.,
CIVIS.
(In Mr MacClure's letter appearing in yesterday's issue by a printer's error the name of Sir Thomas More appeared as "Rose.")
