ALLEGED PILFERERS AT COURT. [United Press AssociationJ CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. A good deal of pilfering went on at the great fire on Thursday night, and at the Police Court to-day Peter and Edward Power were charged with having stolen £5 worth of drapery, the property of the Wellington Woolen Company, and drapery of the value of over £20, the property of Gott Bros. The accused wero remanded on bail. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Detective Cassells yesterday arrested a man named George Barnes, who was endeavouring to sell a new pair- of trousers in a second-hand shop. - The man's room, on being searched, eontained boxes of goodvalued at £50, stolen from jßffsOou Glendinning 's during the.y'reeeni Christchurch fire.
