INCREASE IN PRICE. • ("United" Peess Association.-! WESTPORT, Wednesday. The Westport Coal Company has notified Westport customers of an increase m the price of coal on and after Ist March, viz., screened coal, from 17s to 18s a ton; unscreened coal, from 13s to T4s; small coal, from 10s to 10s 6d. Mr Dixon, district manager, informs the Press Association Agent that the advance is due to the altered conditions of working at the mines increasing the cost of production. Ever since the Minister's visit to the Denniston Colliery operations have proceeded with pleasurable smoothness, and the output is being splendidly maintained. The relations between the management and the employes leave notHing to be desired.
